Denis Of Cork is more of a setup type closer than a slowpoke finisher like a Ready's Echo is.

Da Tara jogged on an uncontested lead through moderate to reasonable fractions. He never fended off either Big Brown or ToE - both ran non-efforts and never made so much as a serious bid.

Denis Of Cork did what setup closers tend to do - and pass everything that stopped in front of him. Da Tara got a dreamy trip making his own pace without pressure and just never stopped.

The race was slow all around.

Big Brown's Preakness fig was by far the slowest winning Preakness Beyer in 15 years - and this years edition of the Belmont was one of the biggest eyesores in the recent history of the triple crown series.
