Yeah, i didn't see the race but one of the lads who i was with today did and said about the gash on the horse's neck. He said it looked quite serious.

When they walk Maldavian back to the saddling area you can see the blood on his neck. You also can see the jock thrown backwards when the horse reared up the second time in the gate.
