newbie question on pace

Hi folks. As the title says I'm still fairly new at this and trying to get my head around some of the finer points of pace handicapping. Can anyone out there recomend a book, article or software to help with pace? Other than Brohamer which I feel I've been trying to read for 6 months. Thanks so much.
