Another poor example of emergency planning by the NYRA EMS medical team.

I was there live and watched the comedy of error unfold. Two ambulances and neither had a clue on to how to get a vehicle onto the turf course. No NYRA security or maintenance vehicle to help them out either. They just circled looking for a way in. For a full 8 minutes the jockey lay there motionless with no medical assistance. 5 minutes without oxygen and your history!!!

Finally a maintenance crew drives in a pickup truck and some guy comes out and told the jock to stay put. Then the first guy out of the rig drags a plastic backboard, NOT emergency care equipment!

Have those NYRA morons ever heard of a emergency planning drill with coordination with track maintenance or security to get care to jockeys? Typical NYRA...REACT to a problem instead of planning ahead and making sure all parties are prepared.

No wonder the jockey colony rebelled against NYRA after the Santos injury at Aqueduct. These guys have NO CLUE how to take care of these athletes. Can you imagine Giants Stadium or Yankee Stadium having an onfield emergency and not being able to get to an injured player for 8 minutes? HEADS would roll for sure.
