Venue thoughts for January 22

The choice of venue for this Saturday is very clear to me, so I am posting this in case anyone wants to get an early start on handicapping.

With the Derby prep season moving into high gear, the choice for Saturday will be the Fair Grounds, featuring the G3 Lecomte Stakes along with a number of other stakes races. The card has already been drawn.

The full race card includes 14 races, which I think is a bit too much for our contest. I plan to reduce that number to what I think would be a more reasonable number and will post the final race schedule in the next day or so.
