The only two downgrades that surprise me are the Amsterdam (last three winners: Coal Front, Mind Your Biscuits, Holy Boss) and the Iowa Derby (Hence, American Freedom) with both having reasonable numbers of runners every year. Neither of those deserved a downgrade.
Meanwhile, the Belmont Gold Cup already a G2 feels like a stretch, despite some good runners competing.
