Will have far reaching consequences for Brian as he will probably have all kinds of problems crossing the border back to the USA in the future as an admitted drug user. There was a case a couple of years ago when a University prof was refused entry when the border guard googled his a name and a research paper on the effects of LSD which he authored back in the 70's showed up. When questioned about it he admitted he had tried it a couple of time back then as research and just like that he was denied entry as an admitted drug user.
Also know of several cases applying for a Nexus or TSA pre-approval card were turned down because they answered the question whether they had smoked a joint truthfully.
