It's amazing that with all the "trainer speak" you hear the last few weeks leading up to the Derby,O'Neil publicly says he's worried about his last work and admits his performance in the Illinois derby was poor. Either he's creating one big smoke screen, or has just been trying to appease Merv, knowing full well that this horse shouldn't be racing in the Derby.
