Default Thanks Steve for the GREAT INFO BEFORE THE BC RACES

Not sure if anyone cought this before the BC races but Steve posted great insight into what the track super did to the racing surface before the BC races started.

I was there Friday and Saturday. The track looked a little deep on friday, and everything was coming off the pace. the people and I went with speculated that the track super might "rig up" the surface to change it to hopefully make it fairer than what we saw Friday. Well, the scraping of the track towards the outside was noticed and communicated by Steve. The one thing I can confirm was we parked on the Back stretch and walked into the track via the track itself (similar to what the owners do on Derby Day) and you could see how much tighter the inside part of the track was vs the outside. I/we used that info to help us win a few really nice wagers.

I tried to get a hold of you Steve, but it must have been hectic day for you.

Thanks for the website and the intelligent information you are passing on to the rest of us who are not as fortunate to have the access you have.

NC Tony

I caught it Tony and have been meaning to post the same thoughts.

A couple things I remember in his report were about there being a buzz about Street Sense and best of all, he provided very timely track condition info that entered into and helped my wagering.

As always Steve, job well done!!

I know I'm a friend of Steve's but...... he deserves a LOT of love for his dedication to the game and the insights he offers here. He performs a thankless job with grace.

For some reason, I think - should say know, this is a labor of love for Steve. I hope he doesn't feel it's thankless. I only wish we all could find a job doing something that we love to do.

any time a person is not thanked for the job they do it can feel thankless....which is why threads like these are great.
Thank you Steve for the time spent, the patience exhibited, and everything inbetween.

Tony, S2S, Matt-O, A/J, Timm, Pais, BTW...

As I've said one other time... "Stop.. I'm getting misty."

Thanks all very much for the kind comments.. It's a real privledge to be in a position to experience what I've been able to experience the past year especially, and I love being able to share it with everyone here.

I think collectively we've all created a very unique community of people with a common interest, and I was thrilled to see all the Derby Trailers hooking up at the Cup... I promise we'll start to get organized for big day get-togethers going forward. Everything that has transpired in the development of Derby Trail, and in my own involvement as a member of the racing media, is thanks to those here...

I've got some things I have to write about Saturday yet, but can tell that everyone is largely satisfied with the outcomes.. save for poor Pine Island's sad and cruel fate. I think the insightful comments offered by EVERYONE here the last month made DTers uniquely prepared for Saturday from a wagering standpoint, and I doubt there's a site anywhere whose members had more fun talking about it before, after and during...

Thanks again to everybody for making Derby Trail what it is...
