Default FL opening day Sat. 4/16

The entries...note that the super is always a fun play in the 9th. That race features lots of entries and upsets for nice payouts, based on 2010.

Steve Crist will be on hand for opening day, free tote bags, lots of fun and excitement at this wonderful track. In the heart of wine country in the Finger Lakes region of beautiful upstate NY.

I've visited Finger Lakes two or three times before - and I swear I don't remember seeing any Lakes anywhere.

Farmington is 10 miles north of Canandaigua Lake and just south of Lake Ontario.

Kind of like how they called this track 'Presque Isle Downs' when Presque Isle is 10 mintues away.

I guess it sounds better than Landfill Downs - Or Trailer Park Downs.

Presque Isle is supposed to be easily the most beautiful place in all of Pennsylvania (yeah, I know, that's like being the prettiest girl at the fat camp)

I'm within walking distance of the Erie Zoo. Presque Isle Downs is about four miles past the Zoo. Once you get past the Zoo and leave Erie for Summit Township ... it's like going to Alabama. There was nothing out there but three huge churches and a rundown bar - till you get to the PID site. About 100 yards past PID you have a bunch of trailer courts - and there's a huge landfill about a mile or two from the track.

I don't think you could possibly find any real estate worse than that. There was actually a scandel on that land deal. Kickbacks and shady stuff.

I will find something for him on Erie's east side. Which is noted for its crack houses and high violent crime rate.

I drove up today. Must have seen at least 10 horse drawn carriages by the Amish near Ovid. Stoic, all dressed in black. Must have been an event of some sort for their community. You also see teams of huge work horses plowing their fields if you're lucky. 4 abreast.

Of course white water rafting is now at it's best too in this region.
