Just another victim of the current economic climate. The state legislature will be taking a long look at slots/resort casino gambling again in their fall session for a state that faces budget shortcomings for the foreseeable future. The Speaker of the House's district includes Suffolk Downs (I believe) so the last best chance to pull this off might be on the horizon.

![]() Oh, that is just awful news. I was at Suffolk today and it was pretty busy. Not sure what the handle was but the parking lot was pretty full and there were more people than I expected there. I also scoped out which box I was going to buy for the MassCap (wanted the one to the left of the one I bought last year) DAMN!!
Anyway, here's hoping that they do get slots. Suffolk is in the district of the current speaker and the DiMasi - the previous speaker, wouldn't even consider a vote - he's getting his as he is now being investigated for corruption - I look at this as the karma wheel whacking him in the head. |

![]() Win and You're In must be really upset. Actually I wonder if this race not being run is how the Washington Park Handicap was somehow included. There is no rational explanation otherwise.
