Default TwinSpires vs. XpressBet

I need some honest opinions about the pros and cons of both account services. I was a BrisBet member for years and therefore the transition to Twin Spires was easy, yet I find that the platform is getting a little outdated, takes a while to traverse, and I never use the TwinSpires points.

So I looked into the current Xpress Bet promotion of wager $100 get $100, and besides the fact that you have to wager the entire $200 within 30 days, it seems like a good promotion. How do the platforms compare? I enjoy the new TwinSpiresTV and there is no additional charge like there is for Xpress Bet Pro. What are the differences there?

Anyone who has experiences using both services, I would appreciate any opinions or input. Thanks!

You can click on a link from the twinspires.com main page "TSC REWARDS" to redeem your points for cash, and they get in to your acct. fairly quickly. ( 1-2 days ) Why wouldn't you use them.

I am sure you can search the forum for your main topic's previous discussions.

i've swore by them, but ever since the meca of twinspires tv, i've shifted gears.

while i wager enough to get one free video feed, i like using 2, and that comes out of pocket, all the while you can watch as many as 5 tracks at twinspires for nothing. IMO the equibase pp's are inferior to the brisnet pp's, youbet is also lacking in promotions. I've been hooked on twinspires, i think they run a tight ship (having said that i've only used xrpessbet 1-2 times and that was years ago, sorry)

I'm a YouBet guy ever since we started working closely with them at LAD and now have friends who work there as well. They are really turning corners in terms of advancing their platform and lots of good things are coming down the road. Their interface, in my opinion, particularly the advanced wager pad, is so far ahead of any other pad out there.

no, don't be sorry. It's all helpful. Doesn't YouBet charge per wager? If they do, I just can't see increasing the already exhorbitant takeout. In that case, I'd stay with TS.

Youbet does not charge per wager but there is a monthly fee unless you handle $350 in a month. Unless you're a wealthy track announcer like Travis Stone, you may find the $350/month a tad onerous.

No, they do not charge per wager. If you bet at least $350 a month you get free use of video and stats for that month, $2500 in a year you get a year free service. you also get free pp's if you bet at least $2.00 on that track that day.

I have an Xpressbet and NYRA account and I used to have a Brisbet account but Youbet is much better in my opinion.

ive had youbet, didnt use them for a couple months and they tried to back charge me 4 months of fees to use them again, told them to f*ck off. Xpressbet is much better. They charge a small deposit fee but everything else is free. The only problem I have with them is you cannot take your money out until its been in there for 5 days after deposit. So if I have a tip and want to put 50 on my account and put it to win on the horse those 5 days are torture trying not to bet the money. I usually give it all back.

Ha. Or if I was a superstar handicapper with a girls bag.

But in all seriousness... with normal churn $350 / month is not difficult to achieve if you can afford it. Churn is the horseplayers friend.

Agree. The wager pad at Youbet is far superior to the others.

same thing happened here, and told em exact same thing - the quirk with xpressbet is you can do an ez money transfer deposit in but can only receive a check by mail (or overnite delivery $) out - with twinspires you can transfer both ways no fees.. and then there's still ADW probs where a few tracks are telephone only -opened a philly phonebet account last winter so could play Turfway online, recently found out Evangeline is now telephone only with Twinspires also..

if you're stuck with playing online with no nearby OTBs available, don't think it hurts to have several different accounts open (if not being charged) because all the platforms tend to go down on big days at some point and can usually get in on one if not the other...

Default I have both......

I like them both. Twinspires is great for the live video, (when Roberts Communication is f**ing the signal up)! When it works it is great to be able to see multiple tracks at once. I have no problems with them getting winnings back into my into my bank account in a timely manner. I find in terms of the online wagering pads Xpressbet's is alot faster, which can come in handy at times. Hope this helps.

I like Xpressbet and I like the regular version - the pro is too many bells and whistles for me. And I watch the races on HRTV or TVG, if they don't carry a race then I use Twinspires and watch it there for free. Last month they eventually blocked me from watching live video because I wasn't betting but this month it's working again.
