Default New Wager Idea

Why not have a bet on the final winning time of a race. Have maybe 2/5 second increments and odds related to likelyhood.

I think it would be interesting, especially for the the seasoned capper as well as the no nothings.

Good idea? Bad idea?

What say you?

Really bad idea. . . Would the O/U be adjusted for track variant?

Over/under wagering when parimutuel based is tricky as its tough to offer good value.

However, offering a wager where you guess the final time on the nose... with progressive jackpot potential has more merit. I think the challenge with this, however, is the novice component... does a novice walking into the track know what a 6 furlong race goes in? Hardly. But they do know what it means to finish first, second, third...

It's tough for all of us to think outside the 1-2-3-4 superfecta at times for unique ways to offer wagering.

How would they take the bets? The tracks can't do it, but other books could.

I'm still trying to pitch my Mix 6 wager.

Race 1-Dirt Thoroughbred Race
Race 2-Arabian Race
Race 3-QH Race
Race 4-Harness pace
Race 5-Greyhound Race
Race 6-Turf thoroughbred race

surprisingly nobody has picked it up!

I'd like to see that "Choose Six" wager come back, where you get to pick which six races to wager on. Would be good for those of us who are sick of First Time Starter Maiden Claiming races killing our series.

It think "Scientific Games" had the Choose Six.

If i'd have bet on the 3 jobs that were up for this past winter, my ROI would be $.00. It's harder to handicap who'll get the announcer jobs than it is the horses!
