I do but have cut down substantially as it was affecting my carbon footprint. Actually I hate running and swimming so it's my only cardio option, weather permitting of course. Never 52 miles though more like 15 tops.

i've done 25-30 miles a day and 50-60 miles in a weekend but never 50-60 in a day. i mainly road trails with a hybrid mountain bike, not many street miles.

that's the start of leg 7 which finishes in pasadena.

they actually head north to acton and then east to hwy 2 before dropping into the pasadena.

crazy.

i'll be at the roast house in your neighborhood friday night. friend of mine is in the band on the patio. stop by and say hello. wish me luck. remind me what i have to do the next day.

dd: road bikes and pavement make all the difference. i could never do those miles on a trail.

dell: if you can do 15, you can do 50. it's 4-5 hours of the same thing. hills are a bitch but once you've done one, you've done them all. move somewhere warm. and less corrupt.

thanks to bob for explaining tfm references.

you're welcome to pat for the frontline tip.

Spend 90% across the border in cheeseland though 90% of my neighbors are also IL transplants. (FIBS) Ride a mountain bike w/fat tires so not really condusive to long distance. Plus the hills around the lake are steep and plenty, most of the time I'm in granny gears and wondering if the 'big one' is coming.
