Wow, that's terrible surprising news. What a good mare.

Default Gilchrest

Been a tough couple of years for trainer Greg Gilchrest with Lost in the Fog and now Indyanne. Have talked to Greg a couple of times up here in No. Cal. where he is based and has always taken the time to talk to me and been a real gentlemen.

I echo PSH's sentiments, tough time for Gilchrist, not only losing a couple of really great horses but also a wonderful owner in Harry Aleo this past year.

I know of no other sport, or even common life for that matter, with so many losses so often. I guess that's why we admire and love them so strongly, we know they'll leave us sooner than we hope.

R.I.P. Indyanne. Thank you for providing us with the pleasure of watching you race... you did good, girl.

Did he try and ship he like he said he was going to do after she fractured her sesamoid or was she put down at Santa Anita ? I really thought in the front of my mind that there is no way he could have transported her to Kentucky only two weeks after a fracture ......where did she die?

My condolences to the connections .

She lived with 5 Native Dancers and a 4 x 5 Raise A Native . That is risky breeding .

Im sorry for their loss the owners , the trainer the groom and the rider but did he really try and ship her to Kentucky like he said he was going to do or did she have to be put down at Santa Anita? A mare of her worth in my opinoon should have have surgery to help the fracture site and then after a few months of healing be transported to Kentucky to get bred if the vet thought she could handle it.

Here is the link to Handicapper's Edge where it clearly states there were plans to ship her to Kentucky early in January . Exactly where she died is Honu's good question ? And how much she was insured for ?
