Very impressive, but just because it looked easy, doesn't mean it didn't take alot out of him, let's hope they can keep this one together, so we can see him again...

He has already proven he can run 9f. Pedigree indicates that 10f shouldn't be a problem but you never know. Running a 112 off that layoff is EXTREMELY impressive. I hope we see this horse some more but the way his career has gone I wouldn't be surprised if he never runs again, or if they retire him after the Jerome. Either of those would be a shame. I would have loved to see him in the Travers because this horse is a freak who would have really complicated the betting for that race, but I guess they didn't feel he was ready. I hope this beast makes it to the BCC. If he does.....it will be very interesting.
Also please remember that 17 minutes after this colt was born I called him as "my horse." Any time he ever wins or any time a horse he sires wins I fully expect to get all of the credit.

Why is the Beyer a joke? Because Discreet Cat never broke a sweat? The Beyer isn't supposed to take effort (or trip, for that matter) into account. The 112 is humongous considering the ease with which Discreet Cat won. You have to make the adjustment yourself. If you think he could have won by 4 more lengths if asked, then look at it as a 118-9 Beyer.

How do you know Discreet Cat? Did you work at Hidden Brook in Paris? What is the connection? Just curious how you are so acquainted with Discreet Cat because i have a mare that shares a paddock with Discreet Cat's dam at hidden brook farm....

Ummm....I was joking when I said I "called him 17 minutes after he was born." The first time I ever saw Discreet Cat was on TV breaking his maiden. Sorry for the confusion. I said that bit about "calling him" in reference to Bold Brooklynite's much-heralded (and very humorous) claim that Bernardini is "his horse" because he "called him" early.

Ahhh...i gotcha amn...sorry for the confusion there....I was curious because i saw him when he was very young too and wanted to know who you were if you saw him...ooops, my mistake....I have a mare that is buddies with DC's dam in the same paddock together in Kentucky...as a matter of fact, DC was NOT a good foal at a young age...he was very rough around the edges and then he just shot-up and really matured as a yearling....
