I thought before this season started the Celtics
could not possibly work with the D.

Rivers had done a great job.

I also agree with Pants. Odom will never play a big role.
He makes a great pass, and then promptly
throws the ball away, loses all his confidence,
and he tries to hide. I swear he does not want
anything to do with the ball at times. The heat
is too much for him. Things dont go well, he
is the first to retreat.

These same fans were screaming Fire Doc and Fire Ainge all last season, now they act like they have always loved this team and organization.

I'm not sure why people keep saying that the Lakers need a point guard. Phil Jackson teams have NEVER had top level point guards on their championship teams. He won what, five of them with Ron Harper playing point guard. Come on guys. Know the game. In that offense, having a top level point guard is not necessary. Phil prefers a big guard that can play some defense. Brian Shaw was a big part for him before.

They're just Laker haters. Dylbert is located in Louisiana so he's probably a Hornets fan. I'd be bitter too.

Team basketball wins championships.... defense and ball movement nothing fancy just effective.

Somebody needs to hand Rivers a cigar he did a fabulous job with Ainge this year.

#17 and counting...

Will LA fire Phil Jackson (again)? Red Auerbach is firing up his cigar in heaven right now!

Ainge will just take his pants down and Rivers can smoke on that instead.

This is a diff. game now.
Teams can play a moving zone.
Double off the ball, whole bunch of stuff.
The role of the PG has evolved.

The number 1 player in the draft is most likely Rose.
When was the last time a PG was taken,
besides Iverson?

BTW. I really believe this was a down year.
These two teams were definitley the best.
But not that good. Rondo leading the Celtics
to victory is like the Ravens QB winning the Super Bowl
for them.

I just can't stand Boston sports teams. They loaded the deck this year in football and basketball. Should be 2 for 2. Just seeing their fans act like they just witnessed the greatest team ever is sickening.

I don't like catholics either.

Maybe having to compete with NY in baseball
has infected the entirety of sports in Boston.
Even though they made that comeback,
its not enough.

I dont like Lutherans... ostentatious bunch.

Phil got exposed again. Once again, it's a players league, not a coaches. Last year, no KG and no Allen and they won 24 games. People calling for him to be fired. This year, his mistakes can still be seen but the players were good enough to win the title. Phil, he is, IMO, the most fortunate man in sports history. He's got the nine titles, and to be sure, he's a good coach. But he's not the God they make him out to be. What Phil does is close the job. The Bulls teams that he won with before, those teams were built and taken through the wars by Doug Collins. He advanced them each year and then when they were ready to win it all, Phil came in and won the title. Same thing with the Lakers. Del Harris was steadily progressing that team but they had some tough Utah teams to get past. When they were ready, Phil came in and again played the hero role. But how hard is it to win when you've got the most dominant player in the league on your team and another hall of famer alongside him as he did with Jordan/Pippen and Shaq/Kobe? Phil was out there just throwing any junk at the wall and hoping it would stick. He gets so much credit for the triangle offense. People don't realize that is Tex Winters' offense, not Phil's. And people don't realize that when the going gets tough, they don't even run the offense. They didn't in Chicago and they don't in LA. It's get it to Jordan/Kobe and let him operate. His strength is not in coaching teams that need coaching and teaching. Let me see him take his act to Seattle and do this then I'll give him total credit. His players don't ever know what to expect from him. Chris Mihm can sit for 10 games in a row then he's playing in the second quarter of the finals. Same with Ariza. Leaving Walton on Pierce. Starting Smush Parker all year long then putting Jordan Farmar in to start when the season matters most. I could go on and on. Good but not great. Overrated. Not God.

The role of the pg has changed but that's only if you are talking about they should get a pg to be their dominant offensive player. You don't want a guy that's going to dominate the ball because that's what Kobe's going to do. Same thing with LeBron in Cleveland. You saw the same thing with Pierce here. When it's most important, Pierce was the one doing the main ballhandling.

You could be correct.
I have to give Phil credit for working with egos though.
He got Kobe and Shaq to coexist. Del could not.

He got Jordan to tolerate lesser players.
Rodman. He got Rodman to play with Jordan?

And Larry Brown is a great teacher but he has an
inability to get along with talent. Its punched him in
the face a number of times. NBA coaches have to soothe
egos as well as coach.

Again. Props to Rivers. He got that talent to play D
for the first time in their careers in 2 cases.

Drunk, elated, proud.

KG: "What you gonna say now?!"

Enjoy never winning a title without the big man, Cheekbones.

Never a more deserving squad.

Eat it, KG haters. EAT THAT ****.

His ability to manage the egos, that is his strength. I give him credit for that and that is very important. I just happen to feel that those teams were going to likely win titles anyway. I don't think it was Del that couldn't get them together. I thought it was a learning process. Teams have to grow up, especially when it's young players. Look at the Pistons. They had to get better each year before finally beating the Celtics back in the 80's. The Bulls had to learn to beat the Pistons. Dallas had to go through some trials before they were able to break through and beat SA more recently. Utah had to get over Seattle in the mid 90's.

I do want to say that I don't think he got Rodman to do anything. Rodman fell in line because he respected MJ, not Phil. Rodman was in line in Detroit when he respected Isiah and Chuck Daly.

I love you Kev. Career losers my balls. Redfaced words from a bunch of salty bitter girls. Sorry that your idol reverted to what he is: A glorified Vince Carter. Would Mike have ever let this happen? Answer that question before your thong sneaks inside your ass again.
