Thats what you get with crude oil at 110 bucks a barrel. They should rename the race in George Bush's honor.

They do offer crazy purses there for mediocre horses.......the thing that sucks in another year we all will be riding bicycles to the track to bet the Dubai Cup.

Ummm, since every thing that is bought by the Sheiks at 3 is retired to stud, they should make it for 2 year olds they buy after big wins at Saratoga.

You guys are absolutely ridiculous. YOu have said some real stupid stuff, but do you realize how bad they would get beat? 3 year olds don't beat older this time of the year, MAYBE towards the end of the year, and even then it is stretching it...

How well have they done? I have no idea, but there is a six month difference there, that is completely different....

I don't care about new race tracks in Dubai.

I don't care if they roll out the carpet for the world.

I don't care how much money they give away for purses.

As for there racing and breeding investments....they do a great job of making American racing worse.

They have ruined a lot of nice 2-year-old private purchases by taking them to there black hole in Dubai. They are buying up quality 3yo's at an alarming rate and retiring them. The expensive yearlings they buy from American auctions tend to either never race or go to Europe.

So 3yo's can't beat older at the end of March but can beat them at the end of May? Why is that?

I think Scavs was objecting to someone saying that the connections of a top 3yo might run in the $12 Dubai World Cup race.

The race will probably be for ages 4 and up - and even if it wasn't - no one is going to run a top American 3yo against the worlds best at 10 furlongs in March.

3 year olds are still developing this early in the year. Where did I say the end of May?

They don't really step up to face olders until the JCGC or within that area to see if they are BC Classic ready

How many times have you seen a 3 year old beat older this time of year?

$12 million will make people do some crazy things. Maybe a top contender like a War Pass, Big Brown or Pyro wouldn't be sent over. But if I've got a horse like Massive Drama that I'm sending over for a $2 million race at 9f, I might be tempted to consider a $12 million race a furlong longer. I don't know what the scale of weights is over there but if it's big enough, it might be something to consider. At least with some fringe contenders.
