![]() I do not think that it is shocking. The Red Sox were such tough luck losers for so long and such an underdog to the big bad evil empire Yankees that I guess that people started to root for them. The Sox also had a huge payroll, but it paled in comparison to the Yanks too. Nobody likes a bully and that what the yanks have been considered for a long time. Almost like this years Patriots, outside of Mass how many people in the country were really rooting for the Pats? Everyone loves an underdog.
