Is it Westchester CC that is a complete disgrace or Tiger?? I think Tiger has earned the right to diss any tourney he so pleases to diss. Funny what being one of the top 2 or 3 players to ever swing a golf club can do for you!! We know for sure there are 4 tournaments every year he won't diss however!

Gales, this is what highly-talented people often become. They act like ass holes. He does this every year.He takes off tons of regular tournaments on the PGA TOUR,but wait until the Tour is over, and all the sudden he has the energy to play unimportant tournaments in Japan and China(for boatloads of appearance fee money.)

Yes,he is the best.He goes to China and Japan(against bad fields) for huge appearance money.Lets face it TIMM.He is not exactly a classy individual. He continues to curse on Network and Cable T.V. regularly. He never really cares about supporting his own tour.He is a selfish guy with skills. This is no Roberto Clemente here, and that's what people try to make him out to be(some kind of humanitarian.) I suppose those trips to play in the German tournament(and Dubai) each year were to represent the face of golf, huh? LOL..This is all about himself,k? It is what it is. I know he isn't different from a lot of athletes that are this way,but somehow the guy is seen as some humanitarian...That's a load...It's all about him,Buick,Nike, and appearance fees, and it always has been.

You have selective memory,Scuds! Remember the 5mil he put down for the learning center? He curses...as if no one else in sports does? You can just about read every word coming out of their mouths on the telecasts..Dodgers and MLB in particluar! In deference to Clemente...He was one of a kind! As far as playing in bad fields...his World golf points(which dwarf other players) indicate all the fields are Bad! Lighten up!...you're watching history!

This is one of the reasons the Americans tank routinely at Ryder Cup.All of the sudden, this guy has to be a team player, and they all know it's fake.He won't even usually watch the other Americans on T.V.(in tournaments.) You see all these kids that look up to him? Guess what they are learning from him? Play in as few of the tournaments as possible, and make as many commercials as possible.Keep yourself fresh enough so you can go get the huge appearance fee money in Japan, and China (in November....after all PGA TOUR events are over.) Take some Buick/Nike/appearance fee money and give it back to charity('cause you have to,)but be smart enough to give it to kids' charities(more bang for the buck.) Don't forget to take the sheik's money in Dubai each year. What a competitive field that usually is.Just the thought of beating those Euros is getting Tiger to go to Dubai..RIGHT?

Come on Scuds...honestly?? Doesn't support his own tour? Without him, they would not be playing for the zillions of dollars in purses that are available to them.

And as far as cursing....I promise you...to a man, at least 95% of those guys curse after bad shots...they just don't have cameras and mics on them for the whole round of golf like he does everytime he tees it up.

I have been paired with girls on the LPGA tour that make Tiger look like a Catholic School Nun. But no one hears it because the tv and mics arent around 24/7.

the cursing - i agree , a lot do it Kev , but for gosh sake's this is a brand new series for the PGA Tour , the commissioner has pushed it, and the #1 player not coming because he is tired?? i mean come on even phil played in tulsa and is dragging his fat a** out there - sahme on barclays for selling tickets promoting that he was going to play - any patron that bought prior to the announcment should be allowed to sell back to barclays and they can eat the loss

Marty, I dont think you can blame Barclays. Im sure they were under the impression Tiger was gonna play and justly premoted so.

Im not saying I agree with his decision, but it certainly is his perogative to not play and I think he has more than earned his right to make that decision.

When push comes to shove, there is one thing and one thing only that matters to Tiger when it comes to golf....19 major championships.

I highly doubt that being crowned the first ever Fed Ex Cup champion is very high on his list and he already has POY honors wrapped up.

You know Minnesota would kill to have a tour stop WITHOUT Tiger. We only have about 3 months of good weather to host a tourney, but we'd take something crappy like the John Deere, 84 Lumber, bla bla bla where pretty much none of the Top 5 players in the World will show up. But yet I guarantee the stop would still pack people in for miles. At least we get the PGA championship in a year or so at Hazletene again. MN is a golf-crazy state, mainly because of the limited time that we can play during the year.

I guess moral of the story here is, if Tiger isn't showin up at Westchester this weekend, DON'T SHOW UP. I hope the crowd sizes plummet so the PGA considers different locations where the crowds will fill no matter who shows up.

They sure as hell didn't support the LPGA when it was there.

I'm about to say a very incriminating statement:
The LPGA isn't here anymore lol? Actually you're right, but when it was here there was no Paula Creamer, Gulbis, Ochoa, Wie, bla bla bla.

We got Luara Davies, Annika Sorentstam, Karie Webb, and Se Ri Pak. Good players, former Hooters waitresses I know, but just not the buzz that the current women get.

The seniors draw well every summer though.

I'm not sure what's more ridiculous, the Ryder Cup statement or the saying he doesn't support the tour. Last time I checked Tiger was just one player on a 12 man team. There are a lot of reasons why the Euro's keep winning this thing and I can assure you that none of them have anything to do with Tiger Woods.

Kev's right, Tiger is the reason the purse money is what it is. They should all kiss his ass every chance they get. Last time I checked, he brought the PGA back to D.C. by hosting a tournament. The money he spends on his learning centers. The list goes on and on.

Do I think the PGA should step in and tell these guys that over say a 3 year period, you must play every stop at least once. Sure. But until then he has the right to pick and choose as he sees fit. He was a late scratch. Happens all the time.

Tiger is not exactly a person who is hard to read. One thing I know is that this guy is way too self-centered to enjoy any team golf like Ryder Cup.I have had more experience than I wished with individuals like this. When they are mixing their talents with other people's talents (for a common result,) they feel like they are at the dentist."When can I go home?" It's usually an uncomfortable experience for them, because they are usually struggling with the fact that they have given up "control." See they hate to be wrong,or make mistakes. Now,factor in the fact that they can't control how well their fellow team members are playing. This is why Tiger doesn't look like he is having any fun during the Ryder Cup.All these players know he doesn't really want to be there sharing a result with them. So,you begin the Ryder Cup every 2 years with this little fake situation going on.What it results in is zero team chemistry. They would be better off if he was injured before the Ryder Cup,and couldn't play(the chemistry would be much better.)It's not like he plays that well at those matches anyways.

I don't know WHO you're watching....but it ain't TW! It be that way in your biz,Scuds, but every thing that Woods does supports the people around him. He hardly needs the adulation of the masses when the proof is before them! I really don't know what you're grousing about?
