Default Twinspires.com to launch Wednesday May 2nd 9am EST

http://news.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=38727

TwinSpires is currently authorized to accept wagers from customers in the following states: Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming. TwinSpires customers in Florida may place wagers by phone only.

That sucks for most.

It's either them or Xpressbet for me.

Just tried signing up for the hell of it, to see what the platform looked like and the quality of their video, but Florida is not in the choices for States in the residence section and you have to choose one. Oh well.

Already juiced my Xpressbet account for the first time in years and am working on the Oaks card, ready for the weekend.

Considering how well twin spires runs other facets of its operations I expect complaints to come pouring in, like today. At least Arlington opens to what is expected to be a nice weekend.

Nyrarewards.com opens their online wagering platform today as well, coinciding with the opening of Belmont. I'm very curious to see how well it performs. Going to place a few test bets today on it, they haven't blocked it at work yet

For anybody living in Florida, I just got an e-mail from twinspires responding to my inquiry.

"We cannot accept accounts from Florida at this time. Thank you for your
interest."

I'm really diggin' the layout. Easy to use and wagering is a breeze...not a pain in the ass like bris, tvg, xpressbet.

I can't believe Illinois and Florida isn't on the list. Unreal considering CDI owns tracks in both states.

Thanks

I did the same thing. Signed up and couldn't find "Florida" on the drop down menu. I called them, they put me on hold for 20 min. I hung up and called back, same thing again. Great customer service! And no on-hold messages either, just dead air.

It's bullsh*t but the state wagering board has to approve the software and whatnot. NY is not available either. Why there isn't a national wagering board is beyond me to expedite said process. Home of the brave, land of the free!
