Is he kidding? It's in the interests of the state and racing in CA to let him treat a horse by using electric shock wave therapy within 3 days of a workout? Does he care to explain why he's sending a horse out to do 4 furlongs if he's got a problem necessitating three treatments in less than three weeks? What's there to heal that wouldn't also preclude such a workout, esp. given the analgesic effects?

Federal Bureau was a $1.2 million yearling. He's by Medaglia D'Oro out of Keen Pauline. I'm sure there's pressure to get him to the races, but this ain't the way.

To be fair to Freddy it was after 5 when he posted. He had to be a few sapphire’s deep by that point.

Just once it’d be nice to see a trainer own their transgressions and take the punishment and move on

That was my initial thought too, but there were no misspellings or Freddyisms, so I was confused. Not as confused as Freddy, but..

Beyond the trainer portion, there's a name here that has largely escaped notice despite having his fingerprints on several high profile incidents..

Dr. Baker is also the long-time attending vet for the Baffert barn. I've been mystified how responsibility for horses in his care has gone unaddressed.

Great article in the TDN a couple years ago discussing the use of ESWT to treat concussive injuries like suspensory problems, sore shins, tendonitis, and sacroiliac issues.

https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.co...rophic-injury/

Cliff Notes version - The jury is out on it's efficacy, it is painful, and horses treated this way are between 54 to 79% more likely to suffer a catastrophic breakdown per a study in Scotland - basically due to the fact that they are attempting to treat an injury or defect that compromises the horse's soundness in the first place.

I agree with Rudy. I have personal experiences with this.
