Well lets get our new year's handicapping brains working a little early this week for races 4-13. Enjoy the day!!!

It's not uncommon for trainers to cross enter their horses in more than one race, but the degree of cross entering between the Louisiana Stakes [Race 10] and the Colonel Bradley [Race 11] is something that I have not encountered before. By my count, 6 out of the 8 entrants in the Louisiana have also been cross entered in the Col Bradley, including many of the top contenders. Since the LA is run on the dirt and the Bradley on turf, trainers may be hedging their bets and waiting to see what the weather brings. Depending upon the decisions those trainers make, the Louisiana could either be a very tough handicapping nut to crack, have an extremely small field, or something in between.

I had been considering the merits of playing the all stakes pick 4, with a guaranteed pool, but must clearly wait until seeing how scratches affect these two legs of that pick 4 before even beginning to structure any tickets.

Played it for real and entered the last two legs wrong. ADW(Oaklawn Anywhere) changed format recently and I am still not used to it yet. Have to be more careful in the future. If there is a wobble headed thing to be done, I will do it. Bad enough to pick poorly, but then to lose because you entered one wrong is really frustrating, but nothing I haven't done before unfortunately.
