Thumbs up Proud Tower Too

This horse is back on point. That was just a horrible ride by David Cohen. He is looking back going around the far turn when Latent Heat is still in front of him. The by doing that he blows the turn and never makes it tight on Latent Heat through the stretch. PTT is a much bigger horse and would of intimidated LH. LH did run a good race but with a better ride PTT gets the job done. Mabey I am just upset cause I had $500 on PTT nose. Any thoughts on the race????

his floating out at the top of the stretch did not help his chances in the race.

The first 1/4 went a bit slower than I imagined it would. I thought a sub :22 was gonna be a given, so I was surprised to see :22.53. I think if Cohen would have sent PTT, he may have never looked back and led them all the way.

Cohen got second guessed for letting PTT explode out to a 3 length lead early in the Sunshine Mil Sprint (6f) and subsequently getting run down in the stretch by Smokey Stover. (He did well to save place) Today in watching the replay, it seems like he was shocked that him and Latent Heat were allowed to get loose on the lead with somewhat soft fractions.

He went a bit wide coming out of the turn, but before friday that 3-4 slot off the rail coming into the stretch has been a conveyer belt. Ask Gomez (oh wait we can't).

I saw it in person and the replays....I think LH had him regardless. Cohen got into PTT something fierce late stretch....while Prado gave a few taps and just showed him a little leather towards at the end.

SAL GONZALEZ, PROUD TOWER TOO, SECOND: “I thought he’d be in front, but I didn’t tell David (Cohen) anything. I just told him to ride him the way he’s been riding him all the time

Prado was already tapping LH on the shoulder at the 1/4 pole and PTT was still in hand and LH was never in tight like he should of been. LH ran a game race in a steller time but there is no way in hell that is not a closer race without that jock looking in his rearview mirror 10 times, plus if he knew he got away with soft fractions why look back, there is no way they are gonna close on a soft pace with those calibur of horses

the Sunshine Millions was also PTT's 2nd race off a long layoff....he should have been much fitter for yesterday's race and been able to handle quicker splits early on.

I think you are basically correct. The turn was blown and Cohen did look around. It seems that it is a fine line holding a horse back and actually having the horse use more energy, than letting him run Kev. Proud Tower really got out well and looked relaxed while on the lead.

i don't get what he was looking for. he was looking back behind him from about an eighth of a mile in and then again on the turn as the horse drifted about 5-wide.

what was he waiting for?
