Default first crop sires

further to another post talking about first crops, what first crop sire are you most loking forward to and who do you think will be successful? Im looking forward to Johannesburgs. he should get alot of speedy, early maturing types like himself and his sire. Rock Of Gibraltars should do well as well. A lovely Filly by the rock, Roxan should win one of the big 2yo races at Royal Ascot next week

If the Rock's babies are a half of what he was they will be very special. Can't wait till they start to get older and mature.

can't wait to see more of Johannesburg's--as good as he was at two. Also interested in Came Home, E.Dubai (esp. since he sat out part of the season in '03), Mizzen Mast (though I don't expect early 2yo) and Orientate.

I think Johannesburg will be the leading freshman sire...he has some good ones out there. I also am intrigued by some of the better Yonaguska babies...he's had a few run but they were cheap auction purchases..the good ones will emerge soon....Officer will also have a solid freshman year..As for a cheaper stud, I think the Jump Starts are also very nice considering the type of mares he is getting and I think he'll surprise a lot of people...

Jump Start was a gorgeous baby; even as 2 year old, he looked like a stallion..........and he's the spitting image of Storm Cat. What a shame that he broke down- it's a miracle he survived, actually.

So far, I think he's had 2 or 3 runners and they haven't shown much, so I'm a tad worried. Of course, I'm not sure how precocious they were supposed to be. I'm hoping for great things from his get.
