![]() After he perfectly saved ground and rode the skin off of her for four furlongs? His mount was 2nd best.

![]() His mount might have been 2nd best, but that doesn't mean those who bet on the horse don't deserve a full effort. 2nd best horses win all the time.

In all seriousness, his mount was under such a ride at the half-mile pole that the announcer noted it. He kept him inside to save ground, had dead aim, took over and got passed inside the sixteenth pole. His horse was finishing second at that point. Desormeaux deserves criticism for doing some of this in the past, but today was not one of those occasions in my opinion. |

![]() Couldn't agree more that he rode a hell of a race up to that point. I just disagree with the idea that he had no chance of winning if he continued through the wire. The margin was too close to know either way in my opinion.

![]() Cost me a small p5, so a little biased. That said, i agree that KD rode the hair off the 3 horse and then thought he had put the lead horse away and relaxed late thinking he wins the race and never saw the 4 until ttoo late. I believe he has a history w /this type thing in his past, no ?
