Why have there been no turf races at Indiana Downs this meet?

They opened on May 6 and to the best of my recollection they have yet to card a turf race. Was the course redone or something?

Meanwhile, I love the turf races at CBY.

I was curious too so I asked them about it. Here some responses from track handicapper Rachel McLaughlin:

Thanks for the feedback. But as far as her answers go, I don't even think there were any turf races in the book the first 5 weeks.

Whatever--my business will go to CBY in the interim.

FINALLY, July 2 (eight weeks into the meet), 3 turf races carded. I guess they were waiting for CD to close.

Meanwhile CBY, well to the north, has been on the turf for 6 weeks already.
