Default Unraced 10-year-olds sells for world record $500,000 in 1948

Alibhai was unraced...but did break the Santa Anita Track record for a mile in a workout before breaking down.

His 54 stakes winners (14% of his offspring) include Kentucky Derby winner Determine. Among others are Flower Bowl, My Host, Honey's Alibi, Moslem Chief, and Kelso's sire Your Host.

A few cuts and the actual story, below. These are the kind of horses IC loves.

Check out that website sometime listed in the photo of Alibhai on PQ. Interesting site.

As for what you said in your post, I would have known next to nothing about this horse, as he never ran, thus I wouldn't have been a fan.

But yeah, if he'd broken a track record in his only start...

Not even a start. A workout. I'm curious whether he had a workmate.
