![]() and could share with me how you remained calm waiting on the news, well please do. I had one today in my mouth on the inside of my gum. It's self imposed damage no doubt from smokeless tobacco and booze. They sent the tissue samples to the University of Florida and it is going to take 1 to 2 weeks for the results.
Thanks in advance. I am not looking for sympathy, but if you are so inclined to pray for other people, maybe throw one my way and just ask that whatever God's will is for me let it be. Thanks, it's a real, real scary time. |

![]() I'm prefacing this to say yes I've gone through that (for thyroid cancer)....
They call it a fine needle aspiration biopsy which makes it sound like it's an itty bitty needle - doesn't it? What it really is is when they first use needles to numb you (or try to) and then stick other needles in your throat and swish them around a little. God it ****ing hurt a LOT. Anyway no need to say any more about it BUT what you need to do is to keep reminding yourself that whatever happens they're probably catching it early enough to help you. I know it's a difficult time for you but you have people in your life who love you, you have all of us here, you have support on so many levels if you want it so just try to stay positive. The time will pass... it will get easier after the first couple of days and you have time to research so just read everything you can for now and especially from people who have gone through it or something similar. Keep us up to date on what happens and how you're feeling. You'll get through it. Time passes either way so you can choose to try to stay positive or be upset. Try to be calm, okay? I know it's hard but try. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hopefully it is just that they're being cautious. Hugs. ![]() |

![]() I think it's best to not have any fear...will yourself to be stone cold about the wait.DARE it to be negative news--scare it, not you.
I'm serious. I don't have the contacts so can't help there, but I really do hope things work well for you. |

![]() Get out of the routine and do something different, whether it's exercise, a day trip that you've been putting off because you haven't had the time, phone calls to family and friends, a project of some kind. Essentially, be busy. It probably won't completely remove the dark cloud of uncertainty that's hanging over your head, but it might put it in the background. Idle time allows for dwelling on it, so don't allow yourself any. I hope this helps.
