Default Looks like NYRA decided to tune the track up...

..for today's Woodward/Forego card...Wow, all you had to do is make the lead and the race was over...it was like Keeneland in New York....now we have a phony Grade 1 winner in Premium Tap....

Commentator is clearly a feast or famine type of horse...if things don't go his way he is not going to run....he didn't make the lead and he threw up in the stretch....now we know why Zito was stretching him out...he must have known he wouldn't get easy leads going short against good horses...

disappointing race by him....

Pomeroy is what he is...I like the horse but Coolmore wouldn't have sold him if he were anything special....I think Henny Hughes would have embarrassed that bunch...

..not quite sure what to make of any of it though with the bias screwing things up....the only thing I had right is that Flower Alley is done....probably hear about his retirement pretty soon...

I totally agree about the track. The Woodward was a pretty weak race though. Not a real grade 1 winner in there (except a finished Flower Alley). HH or Discreet Cat would have walked in that earlier race.

Pomeroy is a horse for course and that course is obviously Saratoga. Did Commentator break bad? He must have. I havent seen the replay but i have never seen him that far back in the beginning stages of a race.

He didn't break well Dalakhani, but I still didn't like the fact that he finally was forced to rate because of that and run out of his comfort zone and failed to respond to the challenge....truly good horses don't have to have things go their way to fire their best shot....

What a disappointment the Woodward was, truly dissatisfying. I wonder who will show in the Gold Cup to face Invasor and Bernardini?

i thought it was satisfying. second of june finished second to suave in their last. premium tap was one i liked in HIS last, but he was short. fired today. sun king always regresses off a top effort..another board finish in a graded race for him. that's seven gr ones he's finished second or third in....watch out for him next time out.

suave checked early, failed to menace. funny cide is funny cide.

as for the forego, pomeroy loves it at saratoga...i ignored his history at that track and it cost me.
commentator did indeed have a bad break, completely took him out of his game. they chose one hell of a return for him.

not true! Funny Cide was not Funny Cide today, usually hes good for a tease and a fade to 3rd or 4th He had a nice spot right off the lead on a speed track and mysteriously went backwards! Usually he just runs and doesnt win, today he ran, and I think the ambulance may have beat him home.

I disagree, but heck, that makes racing. I don't think any of these horses are really top class, but hey, someone had to win. Sun King is a very nice horse - I sure would love to own him. I'm not sure he could run that race against Invasor again, but he deserves another crack. I don't think he has a prayer against Bernardini.
