Default Hannon Doesn't Like America

**** You.

Hannon, who has stayed home in England, was quoted on his website (richhardhannonracing.tv) Oct. 28 as saying: “America is not for me. I’ve tried it twice and didn’t like the place, so I will leave it to Richard Jr. (his assistant) and (jockey) Richard Hughes to bring home a fistful of dollars.”

Reading that it makes me want to
1. Fly him over here
2. Make him wear a redcoat
3. Put him in a field
4. Stab him repeatedly with a pitchfork

It's nice that he's sticking up for his stable workers but he comes off as a real douche.

He needs to post here. There are a few in the politics sub-forum that would have a smashing good time. Indeed!

Doesn't seem to realize he'd be speaking German without this country. But that's ok. Goldi will destroy him anyway

I like America but not everyone would share the same opinion - he hasn't had good experiences there in the past, is just not keen on the racing in the States and felt really sorry for the poor kid who has been with Paco the last few years so I thought he was entitled to say what he did. Anyway, I dont even think its that bad..

Brock, my Euro friend, I have no problem with someone not liking America. Go right ahead. But when you are sending a horse here for the World Championships, is it really necessary to say what he said? Mind you he is basing this on coming over 2 times to run a horse, hardly a long courtship with the Yanks.

Undoubtedly some journalist asked him why he wasn't going, a reasonable thing to ask, and he answered it honestly: he tried it and didn't like it. I don't like New York City: spent a week there, some things were nice, but all in all, I don't care to go back.

Oh, and by the way, Britain does require documents for immigrants, even those from former Commonwealth countries. 'Elvis' would not be in Britain without having those in order. The trainer may not know the guy's proper name, but I'll bet his bookkeeper, who makes out the staff paychecks, knows it.
