![]() I really can't believe that they lost 5 straight at home. But I woke up this morning after the euphoria passed and said damn, this isn't any fun, what do we do now? Both the Yanks and Sox have made the playoffs for so long that fans of either team have come to actually want to see the other team make the playoffs so that we could have a confrontation.
I'll actually root for the Red Sox to nab the wildcard spot. I know they won't beat the Yanks for the division but in looking at the schedule they have left its really not all that hard. What helps them is that Minn, Detroit, and Chi all play each other a whole LOTTA times in the last 6 weeks. If they split up their games and the Sox get hot they might be able to run down the wildcard spot. |

![]() You are missing the fact that the Red Sox are not very good. You need to be a good team to make the playoffs in the AL. Their bullpen is atrocious and their starting pitching is equally as bad. Toronto is likely to catch them. They are done. Put a fork in them. White Sox and Twins fight it out for one spot.

![]() if the RedSox made the playoffs and got hot and beat the Yankees
then what would really be the point of the 5-game sweep in Boston? that's my beef with the wild-card, when both teams are making the playoffs the only difference is home field, and it's really not that huge a difference as we have seen wild card teams advance and win the world series I'd like to see the Yanks, Tigers, Twins, and A's prevail, doesn't matter much in the other circuit, if forced, I'd pick the Dodgers |
