Default Most impressive win so far

slow racing day...

besides the 3 Triple Crown races....who has been the most impressive winner so far this year in your mind? It can be any kind of race...turf...dirt...sprint....route.

Let's hear your opinion and why you think it was the most impressive.

The Tin Man. You don't see 8yos winning G1 races very often.

off the top of my head I would say SinMin in the Bluegrass. Sure it was on a track that is insanely seed-favoring, and sure he may end up being a Keeneland-only kind of horse, and sure he had no chance in the Derby. But taken by itself, as a one-day performance it was pretty impressive.

He won by what, about 13 lengths and ran a Beyer of about 117 (again these #s are off the top of my head). He was impressive that day.

Yeah I have to agree with you, Sinister Minister was smoking on that day and if memory serves me right didn't that exacta pay large?

Bushfire ran a great race I wanna say it was on the undercard of The Derby?

Almost every turf race I have watched this year has had a great finish.

Balance was oozing class when she won the SA Oaks. Looking back, it probably wasn't as good as I thought that day, but it was a thing of beauty when it happened.

Circular Quay.
Thought I'd pour some gas on the fire.

She said, "My breasts, they will always be open
Baby, you can rest your weary head right on me
And there will always be a space in my parking lot
When you need a little coke and sympathy"

We all need someone we can lean on.

Milk It Mick on the Big Cap undercard, only because I bet him at 12/1 on name only.

I still think Bernardini's Jim Dandy was as impressive as they come.....never got out of second gear and simply embarrassed a pretty talented group of 3yos, puling away with every stride to the wire while the field was in an all-out drive and he was out for an easy jog...

it's an excellent question for a thread
I've got three:
Principle Secret at DelMar (best 2 y/o on the West Coast)
Smokey Stover at Golden Gate (this year's LITF?)
Gorella at Arlington (she just kicked by with such ease)

Gorella on the Belmont Stakes undercard was more impressive than her win last weekend. I couldn't believe the way she caught that runaway speed horse at the wire.

I would say the two best male horses I've seen run this year may be Invasor and Surf Cat.

Yeah I like this thread too. For me it is three and in no order:

1) Deep Impact - That last race was awesome. (although I dont think he can beat the Euro's).

2) Barbaro - the Derby win was unreal.

3) Gorella - not her last race, but the one at Belmont when she ran down the lone speed.

Clearly the most awesome. I know the track was a speedway, but that was just an incredible display of raw speed over distance.

I think INVASOR's win in the Pimlico Special over Wanderin Boy, Harlington, etc... I know it was a small field, but Invasor looked like a beaten horse at the top of the stretch and then came back to fly by Wanderin Boy and win going away...

Really? I thought his Suburban was more impressive than his Pimlico Special. I mean don't forget that according to Durkin, Invasor was "AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!" in that race.
