She only ran inside the sixteenth, she is a good horse...however she might be in trouble if they were to play around in a race with a stellar field.

Probably, but regardless, it really was an exciting horse race.

I think it wasnt a great ride by Smith, how could he not know they were crawling up front? It was close because he made it close, it would have been a shame to see her get beat because of it.

This pace stuff. It's not like she's always raced against 22 4/5 quarters. They went 46 2/5 last year and she won by just one length.

Del Mar Website has her coming home the final 1/4 in 22.57. That is smoking.

Actually I think that race was more a testament to her, she's a big lumbering filly so you probably don't want to cover her up and take a chance late splitting horses too often but I would love to see her with a Jockey that doesn't leave her with an impossible trip the majority of the time, she may need that one inch someday.

You want them to try and save ground with that heffer?

Come on, there's only one style with that mare and that's exactly how Smith rides her.

That was an exciting race and certainly the pace worked against her, so it shows what a quality horse she is. That being said, I turned TVG off immediately after the race because I needn't hear one more second of Todd Schrupp's bombastic proclamations about Zenyatta.

If TVG was based on the east coast, then he would be carrying on about RA.

I'm getting tired of some of their commentators "bias" for the west coast. I don't care which coast is better.....just give out honest opinions that the horseplayers would listen to. Send the FoxNet crowd packing........

This comment is borderline ridiculous and flies in the face of what we saw last week from TVG when they were at Monmouth, they were gushing just as much and had the same 30 minutes of coverage for that race.

How can you say they did different today other than to fume the flames of this every growing contingent that seems to rail on a very nice champion race horse.

Are you serious? Did you watch the coverage the day both Rachel and Zenyatta ran? Ken Rudulph actually said that some days a win by two lengths can be more impressive than a win by 20. I also love how a few little girls magically made their way right to the TVG set at Monmouth with pro-Zenyatta signs and somehow they made it onto the telecast this weekend. Must be a coincidence.

They did a 30 minute segment with Shirreffs last night where the "poor west coasters have to battle the bias" notionw as propagated endlessly. Today Schrupp referred to Del Mar as the epicenter of thoroughbred racing today because of the appearance of Zenyatta. The guy re-invented hyperbole when it comes to her.
