Default Multiple Gr1 winner ? - Giacomo HOY ??

Multi millionaire and (multiple Grade 1 winner ?, possibly,) GIACOMO pictured winning the San Diego handicap at 8.5f.
second last on the far turn, the Kentucky Derby winner 2005 powers past 5 rivals and runs on down the stretch for a victory at the wire. On to the Pacific classic, which will feature horses with accumulated on track earnings of more than $10,000,000. LAVA MAN, PERFECT DRIFT, GIACOMOand others. with a victory in the pacific classic over lava man and a win in the BCC in november under the stars,
we could see the Kentucky Derby champion crowned HOY 2006.

He is not a multiple grade one winner and this is your 5th HOY so far this year. It was a nice race, but this is a little over the top don't you think?

He'll have to defeat Mayan King first.

Yeah ... I can see it all now ... a showdown in the BC Classic ... Mayan King and Giacomo ... America's most exciting rivalry since Sunday Silence and Easy Goer, Affirmed and Alydar, Damascus and Dr. Fager, Domino and Henry Of Navarre ...

... what a thrill !!!

Oooops ... I forgot ... Giacomo can't win G1 races any more.

Never mind.

Here is the match race...Giacomo and Lost In The Fog going at it in a one-turn mile. Too far for Fog, too short for Giacomo and a race between horses that are not G1 caliber anymore. Who do you like?

the giacomo bashere, those who lost money on him over the weekend, are out in force.

this is a very good horse. his losses in the preakness and his injury in the belmont undermine what a stellar 3 year old campign he waged.competitive with by the best of the crop out west, at that time the Undefeated declans moon, the BCJ champ
wilko, buzzards bay...

right now he is the fastest horse remaining of that year with perhaps the exception of bandini to 9f. all flower alley is gonna see of this grey horse in november is his big grey butt as he runs by him at the 16th pole.

And as soon as Flower Alley runs next time, you'll post him as this year's HOY. Please don't take any offense, but that seems to me your M.O.

Giacomo has never once ran a fast race. He is a nice horse that got a little lucky, although you can't take his derby win from him. He will always be a derby winner and many greats can't say that.

You may want to check out Bandini's stellar effort when he couldn't go 24 for the opening quarter on an uncontested lead, I hope you don't think that's fast...

Who the heck is this Mayan King you keep talking about? What has he won?

Did Mayan King race in the Spiral Stakes?

I believe I witnessed his greatness in person...

Look for a thoroughbred fireworks display at Saratoga on Sunday, August 13 ...

... then follow the sparks all the way to the BC Classic.

As a 3YO? Good luck if you have connections to him.

Ha-Ha...
I'm not criticizing the post, I just think it's funny that it's about the 4th time you've started a new topic about a horse being HOY. Giacomo beats a small field of maybe G3 calibur horses for his first win in over 14 months, and you're thinking HOY?
Come on. I'm all for letting Giacomo and his fans/connections enjoy the win, but lets not get carried away.

if giacomo wins his next three races, that would be defeating lava man and PD in the PC, and that overrated flower alley in the BCC, then the award would be between Giacomo and Invasor.
and since Gi won the KD, by sentiment he would be HOY.

sorry if that disturbs you..

Flower Alley is not overrated. What about Bernardini? Barbaro would also get it before Giacomo (a grade 2 horse at best).
