Isn't he no more than 6 weeks removed from his ankle fusion surgery? He's not even ready to handwalk yet an they're already banking on him serving at stud in 2008?

I realize ultimately he should be able to breed, but it seems a bit risky to rush things when he's still in a very vulnerable state. Some of the new stressors involved with becoming an active stallion could be enough to make him go the other way.

I think that is putting it mildly. I have no idea why anybody would send a mare to him.
He never demonstrated speed or stamina on the racetrack. In terms of pedigree, I'm not even sold on Johannesberg yet as a sire, let alone a sire of sires.

If both sesamoids were broken (who knows with the shoddy reporting after his injury--at one point the DRF said that he broke sesamoids in both front legs), then his suspensory had to be completely disrupted as well . Pretty much the only option would be to fuse his ankle.
