Default Where's the Chief?

Bernardo Callejas, Jerkens's assistant, is named as trainer for a few of his horses Wednesday and Thursday at Aqueduct. Has the great Allen Jerkens been suspended?

Callejas was named on a few Jerkens horses over the weekend as well, including Lord Langfuhr in Saturday's Mellow Roll.

Nothing has been published by NY Racing & Wagering Board.

I noticed that. I also noted that one or two of the horses who once ran under the Hardwicke name were running for different owners.

Any info would be appreciated. When I saw nothing on the R&W site, I was concerned about the Chief's health. He's not a young man.

One horse was Becky's something that we talked about last week. She was scratched out of the 25K claimer but obviously sold privately.

Yes, that's the first thing I thought of, too. Hope he's okay.

I spoke to him and his lovely wife last Wednesday at Christine Lees at Gulfstream. He was there with a jock’s agent having dinner.
