Default 8/11: Arlington (Million Day) Byk Style

The Kentucky Derby of Illinois is upon us, a day that many local horse players get excited about, especially this one. The last four Million Day have been profitable, especially the Powerscourt Part II year. The rundown, BYK STYLE.

1st: Claiming 35k, 3+, 6.5f, (DD,P3)

1. #2 Conner's Brittany (5/2)
2. #6 Ripe Tomato (7/2)
A. #3 Nonesuch Kiss (9/2)

2nd: Claiming 18k, 3+, 8f (P3,P4)

1. #2 Okie Dozer (4/1)
2. #1 Clerpark (2/1)
A. #3 Wulfert Road (6/1)
B. #5 Smoked Em(7/2)

3rd: MSW, 2yr, 6f (P3)

1. #1 Take the Money (8/1)
2. #6 Gamesmanship (5/1)
A. #9 Palmerstown (7/2)
B. #8 Flatter Time (10/1)

4th: Ill Alw, 3+, 8.5 (T)

My guess it that this race will be taken off the turf to perserve the course for the more important races later (Racing Secretary should get an earful for running 4 turf races BEFORE the Million) Capping for either/or, no difference in Poly/Turf anyways

1. #9 Neosho Red (15/1)
2. #11 Wayoff (5/1) (Huge jock switch)
A. #3 The Alcova Kid (15/1)
B. #6 Holy Thursday (2/1)

5th: The Sea O'Erin, 3+, abt 8f (T)

Local favorite Fort Prado sure to get unloaded on, for good reason. Proctor horse Therecomesatiger will be another popular choice but not real interested

1. #1 Fort Prado (7/2)
2. #7 Galantas (4/1)
A. #3 Rapid Proof (10/1)
B. #4 Load a Chronic (12/1)

5: 1

$50

6th: The Forward Pass, 3yr, 7f

Highly contentous race and can't fault for touting many of these

1. #3 Pirate Saint (5/1) Sure to get above this 5/1 with the plethora of options, great poly form
2. #5 Morada Key (4/1)
A. #1 Who Let the Cat In (8/1)
B. #10 Front Court (8/1)

7th: Secretatiat Stakes, 3 yr, 10f (T)

1. #3 Fleeting Shadow (15/1)
2. #2 Admiralofthefleet (3/1)

2. #3 Irridescence (4/1)
A. #7 Royal Highness (8/1)
B. #4 Lady of Venice (9/2)

9th: The Million, 3+, 10f (T)

While light in entries, a VERY evenly matched group and another race where you can't fault touting any of the contenders

1. #1 Jambalaya (10/1)
2. #5 The Tin Man (3/1)
A. #6 Pressing (20/1)
B. #8 Danak (5/1)

250k Guaranteed Festival Pick Three

nice formatting scav. is that what you meant by Byk style?
for true Byk style you have to add color though.

Yes, I made my picks based on his format

THE "1-2/A-B" SELECTION FORMAT

Additionally, for those that missed it the last time, here is an explanation of the thinking behind my "1-2/A-B" format:

1. Best horse, at best price, with an opportunity to win (often a value play, sometimes a 'too good' ML fave)
2. Most likely winner at any price (frequently the 'most obvious' horse)
A. Horse that has chance to win but is more likely an exotics player
B. Exotics filler for tri/supers (often a short-priced 'must use' that I'm trying to beat)

Stoked about The Alcova Kid.

Won't really dig into the card until a bit later today, but that one just exploded last time -- was very impressed by the one once he got clear in the stretch.
