Default The most important poll ever

Ok, would you rather change your past and make it so that you had good educators in your life, or would you rather go back in time and watch any race horse of your choice, in all their races?

If the former, why?
If the latter, who?

I will get this going.

Since I am skeptical that there are enough good educators around to fill a thimble, I'm going to say I'd prefer to go back in time to watch a horse.

my choice as to who to watch would be difficult. I'd probably choose between kincsem(sp?), native dancer or fager.

i'd probably watch kincsem just to see what the hype is all about and because you'd get to watch about 200 miles of racing!

that, and i love hungarian food.

The latter. I'd choose to watch Sarava in the Belmont & I'd hammer him at the windows. I'd most likely have the ex/tri/super and pick 6 also.

Since I learned FAR more driving a cab than I did in school, I'd answer with Kelso.

I had good teachers, especially in college and grad school so...I'd love to see all 54 of Kincsem's wins!

That's a tough one..because if I had Sarava on my ticket I would have been so wealthy I could have bought my school. Overall, my teachers were awesome. I do wish I could of had me for a teacher. At least that's what my students tell me.

If you had good educators in your life, would you have to give that up in order to see the races?

I had great teachers, especially my English teachers. I started reading Shakespeare in my leisure time, thanks to them!

If I had to give up Mr. Sheaffer, Mrs. Church and Mrs. DuPratt in order to watch the horse race I think I'd stick with the teachers.

(Now, if we could also bet on the races, that'd be different. I'd trade and ask that you give me Arcangues' BCC... )

no betting allowed. i think that would pretty much make the whole concept a moot point.

i'm surprised by the vast number of people responding (2) that have said they had good teachers!

that is really quite surprising. or alarming, i'm not sure.

I still recall so many lines from his works from high school...it's amazing how teachers can really drill something in your head. (I'll die knowing the preamble thanks to my 7th grade teacher.) I think my favorite work was Merchant of Venice. Science, and mainly physics was my thing in school, but I think my English teachers influenced me most. I was fortunate in that I went to a small school so we were asked to read many things that I don't think children are asked of now and many of my peers in college hadn't read either.

I'd keep my education - my teachers have opened a world of possibilities to me and given me the appreciation and desire to see everything that I can, now.

you saw through their uselessness and lies early on, which gave you desires to do and see more in life?

actually, in all fairness, i've heard education out here is alot different and more important than where i grew up.

How come "educators" and not proctologists, or ob-gyns?
How about psychiatrists?
Oh...pardon me!!!!! I left out plumbers.

let me guess, somehow you are linked to the education field?

if not, then i dont understand why you'd care. educators are supposed to be looked up to and well regarded.

that, and i used educators as an example because fpsoxfan is an educator. he made it sound like that is something important. which it should be, but alas....

if you'd like, i can create a new poll.

maybe this poll will be something like "should the most important poll ever thread have used educators, or proctologists instead?"

or are they too similiar to one another?
