Default Vacare

I guess we found out where she fits now, somewhere below the best. No match for Citronnade and Price Tag today.

It's her first loss. Her numbers certainly left her a cut below the very best of the division -- but I think there are still lots of good spots for her and I would expect a turnaround for her next time out.

With that said, very disappointing finish today.

He has campaigned multiple successful horses and older turf females are his specialty. Coretta and Voodoo Dancer are two of the best examples.

Like I said in the Selections room I think she will end up being a very useful GII/GIII horse. I just can't see how she'd be in better hands with Chris Block rather than Clement.

Right on and even also-ran Calla Lily came back to disappoint at short odds in an allowance race. The Magna Distaff was not the race many thought it was.

I wouldn't be so quick to condemn the QEII, Citronnade came out of that one -- and Mauralakana came back (after a poly flop) to romp in a jog last week and Quiet Royal has proved useful at lesser levels.

Vacare may very well be suited more for GII or GIII events, but the QEII has produced several legit runners, in my opinion.

The QEII was a soft grade one and it didn't justify including her in my tickets. I thought she would at least put some early pressure on Citronnade. Well that didn't pan out and as a result Price Tag had no realistic chance to pass Citronnade. Really frustrated with Vacare's performance today. I didn't think it would be that bad.

It would be nice to see her reunited with Carlos Marquez Jr. He rode her with a lot of confidence.
