Default Met Mile

This looks like a heck of an interesting race. Dutrow has his rabbit, we got that horse from Japan, Lawyer Ron now under Pletcher. This should be entertaining. Suprised no one has talked about this... or did I miss the thread?

I'm rooting for Silent Name however I think Lawyer Ron has been pointing for this. I think his connections want him to retire with a big grade 1 win.

Lawyer Ron is nothing special in my opinion. . . I like Silent Name, Corinthian, and Half Ours- all prices and all very good horses. . .

I am suprised I have not heard more, as this looks to be very interesting on paper. I will be interested to see how well Silent Name performs. Sun King is back... Latent Heat...

The "rabbit" is comical. This horse will be lucky to even sniff the lead in the Met.

Anyone remember when Strike the Gold's rabbit Loach could get no closer than 3rd or 4th early in one of his races?

whats comical is sometimes when you see the "rabbit" getting outrun early by stablemate that he is supposedly setting the hot pace for.

So then you must think Latent Heat outsprints him early? I'm getting a feeling that Frankel knows Bejarano has to grab a hold of him early in order to get the mile. Half Ours and Accountforthegold coming off route races probably won't get involved in a sub-45 half. I think the rabbit should be able to get pretty close to the lead, if not grab it outright, considering that's his only purpose.

I often try to find a closer who could benefit from the "rabbit" other than the one he's meant for. Sun King applies to that idea perfectly. I think he's a major player tomorrow. However, should Prado be able to stalk just behind the projected hot pace Lawyer Ron will be very, very tough.

Terrific race all in all.

Silent Name - never run on real dirt

Corinthian - hasn't run a race around one turn since he was 2, hasn't had to deal with a pace faster than 47 & 3 (except in the race where he had an excuse and lost by 8 l.)

Half Ours - has run in only 2 graded races; won by a half over the world beater Park Avenue Ball (sarcasm intended) at 7f, beaten by Wanderin Boy at 8.5f (2 turns). Handicapping with sales prices?

Silent Name has won a Grade 1 mile turf race. Plus he won on the front end on Polycrap in his last. Of course dirt is an unknown for him. At odds of 8-1 or above he's worth a shot. I think he is an interesting horse in this race.

Silent name is an instant toss for me, because he hasn't ran on dirt and his pedigree is grass. He hasn't been a real reliable to run back to back winning races. Silent name is not a contender in this race.

Look at Lawyer Ron and Account for the Gold.

Thanks to everyone who talked me off of Half Ours- the pace wasn't right and I don't think the distance was either. . . Silent Name looked AWFUL before the race- the way they were giving him all that water in the stall made me toss him. . . That left me with Corinthian. . . hehehe

Default Metro Mile - Latent Heat

What odds, in your eyes, would be a good value for this horse tomorrow?

Right now, in my humble opinion, is anything above 9/2.

What say you?

Also, do you toss Lawyer Ron in your multi race plays or include?
