If you believe that crap you'd believe anything. HE in no way bet on every single Reds game...just another shameless ploy by this degenerate to get into the hall of fame. let's see...if i say i bet on "every" Reds game, that means I would never do anything to lose. To me this statement means Rose absolutely bet against the Reds at times and tried to throw some to earn some green.

Wow...what a leap that is! Whatever Rose did or didn't do, unless they prove that he threw games...not just bet on them...I think he belongs in the HOF. How can you have a HOF and not include the all time hit leader, a guy who played the game with such passion? The HOF isn't about personality, it's about performance...Ruth wasn't exactly the All-American boy and where should I start with Cobb?? This is another case of punishing a guy for his personality and things he MAY have done...if there is no proof...he belongs in the HOF...same with Bonds when the time comes! Prove he used steroids etc and then it's a different story!

Rose stated he bet on baseball. LIke it or not that is the number one rule in the game. He does not belong in the HOF in any way shape or form. IF you bet on baseball you are banned from the game period. If you aren't an all-american boy you aren't banned. Very different things you are talking about. He bet on baseball managing a team...he deserves every second of his ban whether he threw games or not. That is just my opinion. Gambling addiction is very serious, and I just believe he most likely got into all sorts of trouble owing money and he probably threw or tried to throw a game at some point.

This is punishing a guy for WHAT he did, it has nothing to do with his personality...the evidence was overwhelming so they banned him...only several years later when he realized he would be kept out of the Hall did he change his tune of never betting on baseball to actually admitting yes he did. He thinks this latest piece of info will just enhance his status. He has no status. He should never get within sniffing distance of the Hall.

Again just my opinion but I feel gambling is much more serious than even steroid use.

I agree that gambling...especially when it becomes impulsive to that degree is as serious as any addiction. I guess our disagreement centers around whether merely wagering on the game mandates lifetime...make that forever exclusion. I don't think it should. Shoeless Joe was excluded for allegedly fixing games, Rose for merely wagering on them...I think that's a big difference. I respect your opinion but I just disagree...if they PROVE he fixed games then that's different.
