Default Do You Buy Local and/or Made in America?

This election season has brought about a lot of finger pointing about where we are as a Country and how can it all be changed so that we can recover and continue to grow. The Hostess thread has a few comments about the effect of outsourced jobs and suggestions on how it can be reined in, but I was wondering how much thought/effort most people put into their own consumerism.

Do you buy local and/or Made in America?

DID YOU KNOW?
If we purchased 1% more in made in USA products, it would create 250,000 new jobs.
For every dollar spent on a Made in USA product, that same dollar generates another $1.40 in revenue. It's called the Multiplier Effect. http://www.themadeinamericamovement.com/

I think made in America products are generally better than most of that crap made elsewhere also, but I think it will take some major media campaign to ween the public off that stuff. I think a lot of the Wal-Mart crowd probably doesn't read, but they watch TV, so maybe they can be educated?

That would be racist!

Supposedly we are a one-world country or village.

Or has that changed?

More important is Michelle O'B still proud?

Face it we're f'd!

Or companies can just claim their products are something they aren't:

I think the Saturday after Thanksgiving is Small Business Saturday, yes? Where one is encouraged to go buy stuff from independent retailers.

Here's a link to a site listing clothing made in the USA:

Funny stuff. I read that Made in America thing. One thing it said was hilarious. According to the article, the Chinese much prefer American products to their own. Maybe all we need to do is boycott Wal-mart and other retailers until they start selling American again.
