Default February 29 Leap Day at Gulfstream Points Picks go here . . .

I wonder how many horses will inspire swammy bets that have to do with a leap year? Anyway please have all points picks and wagers in by 12:28 PM ET, post time for race 3 on the card. As Alli selected, we are playing races 3-14.

Ga'luk to all!!!

Don, I think that your keyboard hiccupped on the post time [mine does it all the time]. You probably meant to write 12:28 PM Eastern as the scheduled post time for Race 3.

Happy Leap Year's Day. My youngest granddaughter was very excited this morning to be able to celebrate her actual birthday for only the second time. On non-leap years she has to do it on the 28th instead and it's just not the same.

Any day when we can seek the Fountain of Youth is a day worth enjoying. Here are my picks for what looks like a fantastic card of racing:

R3: 5-7-6-2-4
R4: 12-7-1-11-3
R5: 10-11-2-8-4
R6: 1-7-4-8-2
R7: 10-2-5-6-7
R8: 2-6-12-11-4
R9: 7-6-5-12-11
R10: 6-9-7-3-5
R11: 5-7-9-1-2
R12: 9-3-2-11-1
R13: 6-4-5-3-7
R14: 6-5-12-11-10

Good luck to all in your quest for the Fountain of Youth. Thank you to Plenilune for scoring.

Yes, Leap Year/Leap Day babies are in a predicament aren't they But, but they are much younger than the rest of us, right????

Another tough, I love my long shots, card. So I vote that we leave Gulfstream alone for awhile, maybe until the Florida Derby. Then again, it's up to the points winners to decide. Have a great day everyone and thanks for playing!!!

Hey Don, it wasn't that unformfull [if that's a word], at least once we got beyond the 7th race. By my estimation, the final 7 races were won by 4 favorites, 1 second choice [Tonalist's Shape], 1 third choice [Ete Indien] and 1 Cheermeister. The late pick 4 and pick 5 were very hittable - I wish that I'd played them. Some of the second place finishers were very tough to come up with.

Naturally it is up to the points winners to decide, but I suspect you will get your wish. Racing secretaries are very good at pairing really strong undercards to key Derby preps, so we have a very strong likelihoods of being taken to either Aqueduct [with potential weather issues], Santa Anita or Tampa for next weekend, then to Oaklawn on the 14th for the Rebel [unless we have a fan of Turfway Park], and on to the Fair Grounds for the Louisiana Derby on the 21st, before coming back to GP for the Florida Derby card. That's sort of the trail that we seem to follow each spring. It's a very enjoyable trail to follow.

The logical path you laid out should prevail but ya never know.
