![]() Did any of you bet Keeneland today? I know, I know...this is probably more out of frustration than anything else. But how can you seriously handicap that track?
Its nice to see double digit prices the whole card but can anyone say that they logically handicapped some of those shots that came in today? I wonder how many gamblers will feel like me and decide never to bet another polytrack race. I wonder what type of effect this unpredictability will have in the longrun for handle. I will stand up and say that i originally open to the idea of polytrack. As for now, as a horseplayer, i hate it. Anyone else feel the same way? |

![]() LOL, just take a look at the Fayette Stakes on the 'dirt'. The winner is a horse with a dirt record of 4-0-0-1 coming in, the runner up cant win an allowance race on the dirt but is a Grade 2 winner on the poly, the 3rd place horse is 1 for 8 on the dirt but a Grade 1 turf winner. Probably the best horse in the field - AP Arrow - runs 4th. Its a real joke, dalakhani, it really is...

I came into this meet with an open mind. After watching most of the meet, i am left thinking that consistently finding STRAIGHT winners is very difficult and much more difficult than on either dirt or grass. Many of the winners this meet were completely illogical. |

But as for right now? It sucks to the horse player and the reason has much to do with what you said. Its the horse that likes the poly the most that will win. But how the hell are we going to know that for all of these first time poly horses? At this point, i would sooner bet a 4k claimer at finger lakes than a stake at keeneland. There is something wrong with that. |

![]() Dalakhani,
I only bet Keeneland on 2 separate occassions during this fall meet (because I usually only play night tracks)- and I hit an exacta in the first race yesterday... by accident. The overwheleming theme so far is how speed is not holding up, closers are winning almost everything right? Well read this... http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6221
