Default Ward, Undrafted steal G1 Diamond Jubilee to cap Royal Ascot

Enormous win for Ward, Dettori, Wes Welker. If you haven't seen it yet.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrWVPj2rak0

Enormous win for America, first open international G1 race on grass since Golden Pheasant won the Japan Cup in 1991 (it was a much weaker race back then too). Arguably the highest quality turf win outside of America since Fourstars Allstar took the Irish 2,000 Guineas that same year.

Ward can have all the success with the 2YOs on grass, but most of the pundits look down on it, almost as if that's all he can train. This win, in my estimation, went a long way towards the Euro contingent really seeing Ward's ability legitimized. Sometimes you just have to prove it the hard way, and they did. So exciting!
