Default BELMONT: 10/12 (6th-9th)

Weather bolloxed our intent at HAW Wednesday with 2 of the P4 races coming of the turf and the other pair run over the sloppy main.. Uggh. Not a great start to the week!

Back to the big plant on Hempsted Ave. Thursday, and it is a very inviting late Pick 4... Friday shapes up as a terrific introduction to the weekend with the Gr. III Perryville at KEE drawing a nice group, and the Meadowlands Cup a fine edition later in the evening.

Saturday finds great action across the country including that famed pair of Belmont juvenile stakes (Frizette and Champagne), Keenland's trio of big events and Santa Anita's offerings. In addition to the stakes on the main circuits, Great Lakes Downs, Calder, Laurel and Canterbury all feature grand "state" cards with stakes galore.

If you missed Wednesday's "At the Races and Beyond", I urge you to check out the broadcast archives and a high level conversation between California veterinary crusader Dr. Rick Arthur and Thoro-graph macher Jerry Brown. Brown called in to ask Arthur a variety of questions about racing's failures when it comes to adequately policing medications, and the result was an fascinating exchange. The archives to all the show's segment is here: http://www.attheracesandbeyond.com/s...6_october.html . (Click the "Rick Arthur, Johnny D" line..)
