Default Discreet Cat Match Race?

Is this for real, Frankel is saying everyone is so scared of Discreet Cat that it wouldn't suprise him if his horse would be the only other entrant in the race, and for the 1st time since KONA GOLD if something unforeseen happen to Latent Heat it would be a $90,000 public workout.

Latent Heat, a son of Cherokee Run, could run next in the Grade 2, $150,000 Jerome Breeders’ Cup for three-year-olds at one mile on October 1st. Discreet Cat, who is undefeated and simply freakish, is also pointing to the Jerome.

“I’m not anxious to run against Discreet Cat, but I’ll nominate and see,” Frankel said. “If the Jerome is a two-horse race, I’ll run. Let’s make it interesting.”

It would be "no match" for Discreet Cat, he would smoke Latent Heat by 10 or more!

Hooves, Siren's Lure is not 3 so he couldn't face him in the Jerome.

As long as the top five payout then everyone with a gelding would have to be an idiot to not enter and take the free money. I'm sure Saint Daimon will run, he races every week as it is.

Siren Lure ran possibly the most impressive race I have seen all meet at Delmar. There was an extreme speed bias that day and he closed from the clouds to beat a very tough Pure Gold. If you havent seen this race, please watch a replay. I believe it was on Sunday August 20th.

There are horses that can take on Discreet Cat. He is not a superman. They can all be beat, including Bernardini. I don't care how much you pay for a horse, they can be beat.

I'd like to see Discreet Cat run against War Front in the Vosburgh.

The Sheiks and Coolmore are worthy sporting adversaries but they can be beat with solid horses with solid pedigrees. Only problem is when that happens, they buy them too, LOL.

I think Ward and/or Zito will sneak in with runners.

Gander-

I would have to think that War Front would win at 6f.

Discrete Cat is good, maybe very good, but he is a laimo who almost never races. The way people talk you would think he has started 10 times and won ten races by more than ten lengths each. Sorry, his drubbing of Accountforthegold doesn't have me in shivers. Add that to his fake wins in Dubai ( somehow I don't feel Invasor's performance was representative of his ability....don't know about you but I would take my chances with Invasor against Testimony heads up ) and you have an undeniably fast colt who has NEVER faced any real competition in a real race. Let's see him face some opposition, perhaps a little intra-race trouble, and see how good he really is. Annointing horses world beaters based on allowance wins is, at best, a slippery slope.

Not saying he isn't very talented but this praise is absurd.

Very similar to the praise for Malibu Moon who only raced twice. Lord only knows what the fascination with him was. LOL

I agree, BTW. But then again, isnt all we do these days is annoint champions? Heck, if I question the competition that a Mineshaft or a Lost in the Fog faced I am viewed as some type of heretic.

Bernardini is a fine horse but what will he do against a full field of quality? Or Discreet Cat or any of them.

I will say this...taking a futures BC bet on any of them at anything less than say 8-1 is extremely foolish.

It would be a good spot for Ward to try to sneak in with Ministers Bid. The only problem being Ward has no clue what planet he is on, nonetheless what kind of horses he has, or what to do with them

Bernardini is a hardened veteran compared to Discrete Cat. He ran in some real races....he dealt with the pace in the Preakness, rated kindly even when Brother Derek flew up on his flank on the backstretch, and laughed off the shenanigans the Bluegrass Cat/High Cotton tandem had planned for him going into the first turn of the Travers. Not saying these were gargantuan tasks but they at least showed something about Bernardini. Discrete Cat? What the hell has he done? He won a race in Dubai so suspect that Testimony, a virtual 20 claimer BUT owned by Darley, was able to somehow finish second. He won an allowance race with a perfect and trouble-free trip at Saratoga versus nothing and nobody. What he is is fast...very fast. What he also is is sore....very sore. What he also is is a horse who has faced absolutely no tests in his entire career. Maybe he's so great that no horse in the world can ever get close to him.

I'll be betting he isn't.

He turned into quite a nice sire. Perhaps that fascination wasn't so far off.
