If you ever want to lose faith in the intelligence of the human race -- try becoming a jockey agent.

Being ignored or brushed off is very pleasant compared to the stupid sh!t you hear from people. You can only say "Are you fucl<ing kidding me?" under your breath and avoid arguments for so long.

Try fixing computers for people.

I actually had a customer last week that walked straight into our door and then looked at us in helpless confusion. I had to go over to her and instruct her in how to use a door knob.

A few days before that, another customer came in with a laptop that she said was runover in her driveway. When I jokingly asked if it had been runover by a truck or a car, she couldn't tell me.

I seriously wonder sometimes how people manage to wipe their own asses.

Joel Rosario isn't new to changing agents. (Stauffer and Ebanks ring the bell!!). But am sure Ron will break into the big barns and plus Ron has booked great jockeys like Jerry Bailey, Chris Antley, Gary Stevens, Garrett Gomez and Corey Nakatani. I hope Rosario can be in the same sentence as them sooner than I think.

However, Ramon Dominguez, John Velazquez and Javier Castallano get the 3 top choices of mounts. Actually Rosario doesn't even get 4th choice and that goes to Jose Lezcano. His competition right now is Julien Leparoux or Anna Rosie Napravnik for getting 5th best mounts right now at the moment.

Ebanks statement: “I was completely blindsided and shocked,” said Ebanks, an ebullient racetrack character known as the “Love Man.” “I’m broken-hearted. I liked him so much and thought we had such a good relationship. Never had a cross word. I was shocked when he called me last night to say he had bad news. I thought maybe he got hurt. I thought we were doing amazing, and we just got here. Business was increasing every day.”

Writing for Brisnet today, Dick Powell had some interesting comments on Rosario's switch of agents.

Here's an excerpt:

HANDICAPPING INSIGHTS AUGUST 3, 2012 by Dick Powell

""Speaking of Rosario, it was announced this week that he changed agents and will now have Ron Anderson booking his mounts. In the cutthroat business of jockey agents, Ronnie Ebanks was fired without any inkling that anything was wrong.

After all, why would Ebanks be worried? They won seven of the past eight full meets they competed in, but the rule of the world of agents and jockeys is that there are no rules. Going with Anderson is a great move since it will raise Rosario's profile in the major races throughout the country. Anderson is as shrewd as they come and is on the short list of agents that the big stables look to for the classic races. Ebanks did nothing wrong, other than choose a profession that thinks nothing of doing what Rosario did.

I'll keep the names private, but I know a rider that got hurt and went to the sidelines for about six months. His agent didn't even take on another rider and bided his time while his rider got healthy. The rider made it back to the races and within a year he had fired the agent that had been so loyal to him. If you want loyalty, buy a dog because it doesn't exist in this business."
