Default Del Mar trip

I will be going to be visiting Del Mar my first time at the end of this month. Can anyone suggest any hotels that have balconies near the ocean in the san diego area? Also, if there are any good restaurants you can reccomend.

You can also drive a couple miles north to Cardiff By The Sea for more places, they have a chart house restaurant on the ocean.

Red Tractons is right across the street from the track, it's real pricey but has very good food, a lot of the track people eat there, I love Jeff Rubys Steakhouse, it's great, actually there are several great places in Del Mar and San Diego, your smart phone will be great to just choose, I'm sure more people will chime in with their favorites, you'll have a great time, Del Mar is great!

http://www.jakesdelmar.com/ - right on the beach and decent deals if you can catch "aloha hour"

Also, if you want to venture up into Del Mar Heights there are a couple of new places in the same center:
http://www.burlapeats.com/ - overly trendy and can't speak much to the food, but a good looking place in every sense.
http://www.davantidelmar.com/ - good wine and small plates.

Not sure what your budget is...

http://www.delmarmotelonthebeach.com/

http://www.wavecrestresort.com/

There is a Courtyard by Marriott, a Clarion, and a few other brand names hotels in the Del Mar area. Nothing is very economical though, especially if you want ocean views...

Brigitine's has balcony seating where you can see the race from your table. Good food, awesome atmosphere. Chantal was eating there when I went.

Don't stay in La Jolla you may never see the sun. Hop the Coaster and get downtown to the Gas Lamp.

Why won't I see the sun??

For cheap eats in Gaslamp after a zoo visit, how terrible is Baja Coastal Cantina?

Any hints for finding parking around the beaches (La Jolla, Torrey Pines, Windandsea, Black's Beach)?
